Bio (English version)

Juan Pablo Margenat was born in 1974 in Buenos Aires, he is an Artist - Designer, Architect and Professor of Architecture at the University of Buenos Aires and Audiovisual Arts at the National University of Avellaneda.

As an Architect, the urban scale is the one in which he has worked the most coordinating project teams in the Government of the City of Buenos Aires. In the private sector, he has obtained some awards and mentions for his work or collaborations.

As an artist-designer, he is dedicated to the research and development of devices for audiovisual performances, developing his own audiovisual technologies. For some years now, he has been carrying out his UMBRASONICAS project, a horde of nocturnal bicycles with different sound capacities, a proposal for research and technological integration between electronics and bicycles to build a small bicycle orchestra for urban performances. He is part of different groups such as Pedaludico, DownbyLAb, Nocturama and Estrategias Murales, which are oriented towards Collaborative Art and Design. He participates in international events such as the World Bicycle Forums, BIKE BIKE! or in local events such as Trimarchi DG, The Night of the Museums, Exhibitions in different spaces, Creative Neighborhoods (GCBA) and others.

He is currently preparing the Master's thesis in Planning and Management of Cities (UBA) on thesubject of mobility and the transformation of the city, from the base of the Urban Social Movements. He is currently working simultaneously on five connected projects: Umbrasónicas, MetaRoutes, CiBiC, Vinanois and Domosonica.
